General Information

The Kurtin Eye Care Center is located north of Dallas, Texas in the vibrant city of Plano. Dr. Kurtin is a very personable doctor who enjoys caring for people of all ages whether it is for preventative reasons or treating glaucoma, infections, injuries, dry eyes or visual disorders. He specializes in contact lens fitting for those who need bifocals (he developed the MultiFokus®) and for dissatisfied LASIK, RK or corneal transplant patients (WaveLens Designs). He is certified, as required by the FDA, to prescribe lenses that corrects vision during sleep, known as corneal refractive therapy or
ortho-K.

Dr. Kurtin's interests also include working closely with school age children with 'learning differences'. These children may 'see' 20/20 and, therefore, are often overlooked by many educators and other doctors-- but really have a visually related learning problem.

If you have a medical eye problem, we treat a variety of eye diseases including glaucoma. The office is a preferred provider for major medical insurance plans including Aetna, BlueCross Texas, Humana, PHCS Affiliates, Cigna PPO, United Healthcare, Multi-Plan Affiliates, First Health among others. We also accept vision care plans including VSP, ECPA, EyeMED and VisionOne. You may be able to use your medical or vision plan, or both, depending on the nature of your visit.
