The Optomap Retinal Exam

The Optomap® Retinal Exam is a state-of-the-art imaging of the inside of your eyes called the retina. It takes just a few seconds, and is painless . The images are usually taken without having the need to dilate your eyes- a very    common procedure which can be uncomfortable and inconvenient for many people. You can choose this option at
the time of your eye exam..

The Optomap Retinal image is displayed immediately after being taken, allowing us to view it together while you are in   the exam room!

     The Optomap:

·  Usually needs no drops, so you can resume normal activity quickly

· Helps detect macular degeneration, Glaucoma, melanomas, floaters

· Provides a record for trending comparison at exams

· Is great for children too!

This OptoMap image shows a healthy retina. Center of picture is called the
Macula, the Optic Nerve is just to the right with blood vessels coming out in
differing directions to nourish peripheral parts of retina.

(Some situations may require a dilated eye exam under certain circumstances)
